Faib, "Broken Mirror" remix
Somehow I neglected to write about this here, which is flakey, because I think it's one of the best things I did last year!
In July, Redvolume Records asked if I'd like to remix a track called Broken Mirror, by female Russian producer, Faib.
Mike from the label said that Innasekt had already done a wicked remix for them, but he wondered if I'd like to give it a shot anyway.
I really loved the track. It had the perfect mixture of darkness and beauty for me; it was like roller-skating through a cinematic landscape littered with barbed wire and populated by wailing women.
I was on a roll, so I finished the remix quickly and sent it to Redvolume, not expecting much to happen with it.
They got back to me quickly. With a "ja!" and a "big up!". There was no room for it on the planned
RVOL007 12", but they'd like to include it as a special 'digital-only' bonus release.
It was released in August '08, and you can still buy it!
